Our Story
A Historical Building from 1929.
Oh the stories these bricks could tell! The Loft at Roosevelt Row is nestled in a historic building called The Hardware Store that was built in 1929 and is almost 100 years old. It was built by a secret society called the Knights of Pythias, a fraternity group that started in DC with a goal of mending the rift in the country after the Civil War. The Knights of Pythias are still active in communities across the nation to this day.
Fast forward to 2023, this historical building is now surrounded by the Roosevelt Row Art District. We love being right in the center of such an eclectic area and we truly feel it brings a one-of-a-kind feel to the couples and guests who choose our venue for their special event.
The Loft at Roosevelt Row is Latina woman owned & operated by Leslie Hernandez. Leslie has been in the wedding industry since 2018. She started out as a wedding MC/DJ and transitioned to a managerial & coordination role during 2020. She opened her own wedding planning business in 2021 (Un Jour D’Amour Events), started a collection of luxury fantasy themed events in 2022, and is now fulfilling her dream of running a venue with the Loft.
